About SummitWright

Specialist software for work that can't afford to go wrong.

SummitWright is a Brisbane-based Australian software and engineering company founded by Al Elmi. It builds specialist software products and delivers fixed-scope SQL Server recovery and AI application data-integrity assessments — with an emphasis on controlled testing, reproducible findings and written evidence.

What we do

Two focused software products, and two fixed-scope engineering assessments delivered directly by the founder.

MigratePro

Case management software built for migration agents and professional practices — structured matter tracking, document handling, and the administrative detail that regulated work demands.

SQL Recovery Assurance — software product

An in-development SQL Server backup and restore-verification product, built to record evidence of recovery readiness — because a backup that hasn't been tested is a hope, not a plan. Early-access status and planned capabilities are described on the product page.

Engineering assessments

Two fixed-scope, founder-delivered assessments: the SQL Server Recovery Assurance Assessment (A$2,450) — a controlled restore test of agreed backups in a customer-controlled environment, with a written evidence report — and the AI Application Data Integrity Assessment (A$1,650) — up to three targeted executable failure tests against one critical data workflow.

Who is behind SummitWright

A founder-led business, not an anonymous agency.

Al Elmi, Founder and Principal Engineer of SummitWright

Al Elmi — Founder and Principal Engineer, SummitWright Pty Ltd

Al is a Brisbane-based software engineer and SQL Server database professional. His technical background includes production database operations, performance diagnostics, Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, backup and restore engineering, and database-backed application development.

His engineering work also includes AI-assisted application development and investigating data-handling failures involving configuration, persistence, transactions and migrations.

The products on this site are built, and the engineering assessments scoped, conducted and documented, directly by Al. Findings distinguish observed behaviour, failed checks and what remains unverified. When you contact SummitWright, you are talking to the engineer who does the work.

How we work

The standards we hold our own work to — the same ones we'd want from any vendor we hired.

Precision over promises

We'd rather understate and deliver than oversell and apologise. If a capability is still in development, we say what works today and what is still planned — and we don't present estimates as commitments.

Tested, not assumed

Software that touches people's cases, data, and livelihoods has to be verified, not trusted on faith. Thorough testing is a baseline, not a differentiator.

Plain-language honesty

Clear about what's ready today, what's in progress, and what we recommend — in writing, without jargon used as a smokescreen.

Australian, accountable

Owned and operated in Australia, under Australian law. When you work with us, you know exactly who you're dealing with and where we stand.

Client data, access & confidentiality

How backups, source code and evidence are handled during an engagement — and what never needs to leave your control.

Engineering assessments use agreed access methods and testing boundaries. SQL Server recovery assessments are designed around customer-controlled restore environments; AI application data-integrity assessments use approved non-production test environments. Before technical work begins, confidentiality, permitted access, testing scope and evidence handling are agreed in writing. The standard assessments do not require customer backups or confidential source code to be submitted to external AI services.

Do not send credentials, production data, database backups or confidential source code through the initial contact form. For website enquiries, we process the contact details and message you submit, including optional organisation information; hosting and security providers may also process technical information to run and protect this site. See the Privacy Policy for use, retention and deletion requests.

We build software the way we'd want a vendor to build it for us: precise, thoroughly tested, and honest about what's ready today and what's still in progress.

Discuss a software product or an engineering assessment

Have a SQL Server recovery question, a concern about an AI-built application's data handling, or a question about a SummitWright product? Describe the problem and Al will give you a straight answer about whether it fits the available services — and what he'd do first.

Discuss your requirements

For engineering assessments, the first step is a free 20-minute suitability call — not a free technical audit.
